Inverted cutouts

Again,... more to explore. I find it hard to be patient in the crucial early stages of these, where you can't tell if it's going to work or not. And then when you rush it, you end up being backed into a corner by shoddy steps taken early on. I need to more comfortable with experimenting and discarding what doesn't work, without that feeling like a waste of time.
